THE JOE TORRE STORY

What do you think concerning our skipper Joe. Should he stay or should he go? (that rhymed)....any way I think its time to move on .Because the combo of young up and coming pitching studs and Joe just down right scares me. But if him not being here causes Posada and Mo to leave then you must bring him back for a 1 year farewell tour win or lose its his last year........what do you think?

first of all when torre came to the yankees they had the combo of young talent and veteran talent thats why they were so good for so many years.... the reason they have not won in past years is because they have not brought up much talent in their system....so u cant fire him on those grounds samiam

second....i would bring him back if nothing else just becuz there is noone else that can replace him....last year would have been good becuz u couldve had pinella but now ur left with la russa(media would kill him) girardi(complete opposite of torre, maybe a good pick) and mattingly(are u kidding me?)

so in my mind i think u give him a 3 yr deal worth 19 million just like the last one he signed and if a big name manager comes along in the next few years then u fire him and sign that manger....

the joe torre of old is not the same joe torre now.back then he didnt burn out arms that he trusted.the new and unimproved one kills arms let me name you a couple .karsy, quantrell sturtse,gordan,proctor,bruney..the list goes on and on. he never managed the bulpen well come to think of it.I dont mind larussa only cause hes a fresh new face.the ideal guy for the job is girardy .and thats a strong possibility.and once were changing the scenery bring on leo mazzoni.

If Joe torre had all of those arms in the same year then he wouldnt burn them out ...when they were winning they had an array of arms coming out of the bullpen from the left (stanton) to the right (nelson, wettland, rivera, ramiro mendoza)theres prob more but im a mets fan so give me a break...also you had great starting pitching in t he late 90's and this year the pitchers (in the beginning) COULDNT GO 5 INNINGS including the million-a-start man roger clemens....
