A-mess

Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees have agreed to the outline of a $275 million, 10-year contract, a deal that potentially would allow him to earn millions more if he sets the career home run record. The amount of the guaranteed money was revealed by a person familiar with the negotiations who spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because the deal hasn't been finalized. A-Rod met Wednesday in Tampa, Fla., with the Steinbrenner brothers but the parameters of the deal were set in place last weekend.
"Yeah, I could say that," Yankees senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner said. "The meeting was a final get-together. He wanted to make sure myself and my brother knew that he was sincere and serious."
The Yankees still must draft the agreement with Rodriguez's agent, Scott Boras.

I cant believe this.

The steinbrenner brothers within the first 2 months of running the organization not only did they make fools out of themselves their making the Yankees look like a classless team.

Once you say something you have to stick with it.If you say your don't want

A-Hole back if he opts out.then mean what you say.

we cant have this team be run by a bunch of monkeys spending daddy's money.

I know that in the regular season I'm going to be tempted to route for Alex cause hes probably going to win us some games. But we all know whats going to happen once October hits...lets see if we could win without this bum because we all know that we can rely on his sub .100 BA in the playoffs.

It doesn't make sense to route against somebody on your team cause your not actually routing for an individual your routing for your TEAM and by routing against your routing against your team and that doesn't make much sense. so i guess what i will do is route for the Yankees and not for Alex. if he ends up helping the Yankees that's great if not then i will boo the hell out of him.

Derek Jeter the tax cheater

New York state tax officials want Derek Jeter to pay hundreds of thousands -- possibly even millions of dollars -- in back taxes and interest for the years 2001 to 2003, when he claimed Florida residency despite spending the bulk of his time in New York.
An administrative judge's ruling shows that Jeter has claimed Florida residency since 1994. New York state isn't going back that far, but it does want it's cut from Jeter's check from after be bought a $13 million apartment in Manhattan. Jeter made $34 million in salary from 2001 through 2003 and likely millions more in endorsements.

Unless there is some kind of mix up, Derek jeter did a big no no . never screw with the government. I know this whole story doesn't sound like something the captain would do but i guess hes not as much of a saint as everybody makes him out to be. First the whole herpes thing now hes screwing around with taxes.Maybe that's why he sucked this year in the post season,he was probably thinking about the extra $$ he made and how hes going to spend it on his next super model girlfriend. Jete I'm just messing with you and i love you just keep it clean

If this happens Im going to be sick

Alex Rodriguez-3B- Yankees
Nov. 14 - 4:25 pm et
Alex Rodriguez confirmed on his website that he's hopeful of remaining with the Yankees.
"After spending time with (wife) Cynthia and my family over these last few weeks, it became clear to me that I needed to make an attempt to engage the Yankees regarding my future with the organization," A-Rod says in a statement. "Prior to entering into serious negotiations with other clubs, I wanted the opportunity to share my thoughts directly with Yankees' ownership. We know there are other opportunities for us, but Cynthia and I have a foundation with the club that has brought us comfort, stability and happiness. As a result, I reached out to the Yankees through mutual friends and conveyed that message. ... During these healthy discussions, both sides were able to share honest feelings and hopes with one another, and we expect to continue this dialogue with the Yankees over the next few days." So, A-Rod wants this and all indications are that the Yankees do as well. This might be wrapped up by the end of the week.

If this happens I'm going to be sick. I officially burned bridges with arod. if he comes back i will not route for him.I will not feel bad for him. If he helps the organization the team that would be great but until he wins us a title Arod is a dog in my books

Lowell is NOT the answer

According to RotoWorld the Yankees are showing interest in free agent 3rd baseman Mike Lowell.I hope the only reason they are expressing interest is just to drive up the price for the red socks. If you look at this guys numbers before he came to Boston, his last couple of years on Florida , He was a washed up has been. If you look at his numbers this season outside fenway his numbers were just barley pedestrian. His swing and his power are tailor made for fenway. In Yankee stadium most of his Green Monster shots are caught. This is not the answer. The yanx can do allot better.

MO & PO PLEASE DONT GO

Reports are stating that Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera will not be signed by the deadline. I think this has disaster written all over it. At all costs The Yankees must Retain these guys. they are the glue that keeps this team going. there is nothing more important than a world class closer and a catcher that just so happens to be the most productive catcher in the league for the last decade. We must bring these guys back Evan if it means giving them an extra year . I could picture it now Posada in a mets uniform and Mariano in a dodger uniform. uccchhhh. I'm repulsed thinking about it. If cash lets any of these guys walk he MUST be fired.
