According to RotoWorld the Yankees are showing interest in free agent 3rd baseman Mike Lowell.I hope the only reason they are expressing interest is just to drive up the price for the red socks.If you look at this guys numbers before he came to Boston, his last couple of years on Florida , He was a washed up has been. If you look at his numbers this season outside fenway his numbers were just barley pedestrian. His swing and his power are tailor made for fenway. In Yankee stadium most of his Green Monster shots are caught. This is not the answer. The yanx can do allot better.

I agree sam. If Lowell played last season in yankee stadium he would have finished with 80 RBI's.
If A-rod played in Fenway he would have finished with 175 RBI's. Just by negotiating with Lowell and maybe signing him, will leave the door open for A-rod to sign with the Sox which is theo's divine plan. This could be good and bad for the yanks. Bad for the yanks, is obvious:Elsbury, Pedroia, Fat Bastard, Manny Manny Manny, A-Rod.
The good, is that everyone on the Sox hates A-rod (except for maybe poppy, but especially Varitek).
Of course signing a free agent is easier than trading for a third baseman but the yanks are really cought in a pickle here. this process may take a while especially because boras represents both arod and lowell i think. Can someone find out about Lowell?
I know hear he's askin for 5 years which is insane for a 34 year old 3rd baseman who just had only 1 good season in his last 5. I also heard if he gets a 4 year deal, he would ask for $13-15 mill. per. Freakin Rediculous!!!
This is where the fun begins, how are the yanks gonna fill this gap?

he had one good year in his walk year. he'll be his old 18-75 .275 next year again with worse numbers possible. hope the red sox give him a lot of money for a lot of years. wouldn't mind seeing betemit get 350 ABs at 1B next year although you can do better if u spend some money.
