Last night I came to SAMIAM in a dream and we had a lengthy discussion. Of the many topics we spoke about (the ghost being overrated in softball, met fan's ignorance, if their same ignorance led to bliss etc.), the hilight of the conversation was how pleasurable it is to watch a Yankee game when they score and win (which has been happening a lot more often as of the ASB).
I dare to say this a game or two too early but Yankees bats have awoken and the bronx bombers are back (even w/o posada and matsui). The starting pitching has been great with exception to the 4th and 5th starters who have somehow managed to get out of trouble, eat enough innings, and help the team pick up some wins (what more can you ask for?). The relief has been nothing short of stellar! When the Yanks have a lead, the game is essentially over after the 6th inning as Veras, FarnsWORTH (I never thought i would take out the worthless from his name), edwar, and mo rivera just don't give up runs anymore.
Life is good as a Yankee fan... For all the Mets fans that read the blog, all I can say is I really thought with Billy Wagner down you guys would be able to win some close, tough, in-division games yet the Mets still manage to blow a lead in the 9th last night and put a smile on my face.

first of all the ghost is really one hell of a hitter in softball. you hit rockets to right field. very impressed. maybe a better infielder than outfield but you looked very good at the plate. and the pj pants to top it off was classic.
to the mets unfortuantly i am a big fan and of course if they win the next 2 everyone will say look they took the series and they are n first place. but to me that loss was really terrible. it says that they arent over what happened last year. they are scared to be the best. it seems its in the back of their minds that they think as a team they are going to choke.
it hurts to see johan do his job well and then the bullpen blowing it. makes you feel that he might just quit if they keep doing it to him. the only thing that will erase this is a 6 game winning streak.
to the yanks, they will be fine they are doing what they do every year and that is win when they have to. if i had to bet i would still pick them to play in october baseball.
Regarding this whole posada thing does anybody else think he should undergo the surgery now and not wait and then lose half the year next season, I would agree he should stay and play if he would be able to play catcher and get rid of Molinas 220 batting average but since he can only DH i would rather have a healthier Johnny Damon or Giambi hitting then a hurt Posada
Thank you for the compliments max and I agree 100% with the pj's being an instant classic (how about how they were all in my grill about wearing them till I knocked the 3 run round tripper lol). As for the mets, I agree they seem timid and scared of competition and they look like they want to prove something but never do...Maybe they turn it around this year but the playoffs wont be easy this year with the cubs and brewers so they better get over their fear of winning.
My stance on Posada is sit his ass down. He's only hitting .214 as of July 1st, so the shoulder is obviously bothering him somewhat at the plate and I just rather see him healthy at spring training next year then him coming off the DL after the first month of the season next year and then still taking another month to get used to playing ML ball when he returns to the lineup...The debate can go either way though if you want to say "its the last year of the stadium so do whatever neccessary to make the playoffs"...
