cashman's gotta do with abreu what he did with sheffield last year- get a good prospect for free.
How bout abreu for andy marte of the indians? He was traded for coco crisp and lost his spot to casey blake who proved he can hit with power. The Indians are gonna lose lofton and nixon to free agency. Love it!!
Cashmans gotta go hes done a great job this year holding onto the rookies but his bullpen signings and starting pitching signings are the reason this team has wasted 1.3 billion over the past 7 years without a world series....Pavano!!!!
and of course the indians would love to trade a young hot prospect for a guy making 16 million and who helped someone make 2 grand. C'mon keep dreaming max.

first of all, the tigers showed last year that teams will trade one time top prospects(plus two mid level pitching prospects) for one year of a great right field bat.
second of all, the pavano-wright-farnsworth etc. were terrible, your right. but that was pre-free-brian cashman. Last year he took sole control and made one of the best trades in recent yankee history. Olendorf, vizcaino and jackson and gonzalez for a 42 year old broken overpaid attitude.
Cashman is King!
The tigers traded away a prospect that blew his arm out (and had surgery) for a guy that the yankees wish they hadn't traded away(before abreu turned it on).
If u want to give credit for getting rid of a 17 game winner in consecutive years for Luis Vizcaino(4.50 era this year)and a couple of young shortstops which the yankees already have 2 all star shortsops on their roster, then be happy with the result you got this year cuz its gonna happen alot in the future.
The only reason why cashman makes sense for the yankees is his last name CASHman!!!!!

Cashman dumped 16 million for a really good pitching prospect ( ohlendorf has a good sinker and hit 96 on the gun in september), a solid bullpen guy and two good shortstops.

OH and whats there do be jealous of...you have a struggling franchise (in steinbrenners mind) without a manager and a third baseman and who dogs on the people who made them a great team (eg bernie, mariano , posada, torre) why not resign them all before the season started...now ur in trouble.

This is what needs to be done in my opinion.
1st pick up the option on abreu. 2nd sign Torri Hunter.stick melky in right.3rd packge abreu and Wang...(let that sink in)for ...Johan (but we pay whatever of abreu's contract that needs to be paid. minisota cant refuse their getting the offense they lost from hunter in abreu.And their trading the last year of a sure to walk away johan for a young stud 2 time 19 game winner in wang. In makes perfect sense for both teams..Think of the rotation..Johan, Pettite,joba,hughes,kennedy.WOW
