First of all i would like to ask all of my fellow blogger'so accept my apology for my absence of my own blog.
Even though I did get married on Monday night,I have no excuse for being missing in action during these crucial days of the baseball off season.
I hope you can accept my apology . if you don't then screw you....
WOW what a couple of days. between Mariano accepting and all those trades and signings that went down i feel like i have been away for a lot longer than a few days.
Any way i want to wish a Shelly Duncan get well soon.after being hospitalized by some sort of blood clot..
Welcome back CJ Henry.after being traded for Abreu he was just awful for Philly but the Yanx brought him back.(o the Yanx practically traded Matt smith for bobby abreu .i think it was a good trade)
all we need is Andy to come back and we will be almost there. just maybe a little bit of Johan and a little bit of Andrew and we would be almost set.
stay tuned for my next post which would be my holiday wish list for Brian cashman

Torii Hunter goes to LA Angels...have fun
Scott Linebrink going to Chicago White Sox...I''m sure the yanks made him an offer. the sox offered him 4 years, which I would not have for this guy. He had an ERA under 2 in 2005, but it has climbed the past two seasons to about 3.7. I would have given him 2 maybe 3 years. He is 31 yrs old.
There are other relievers on the market but i thought he was probably one of the better ones.
Welcome back Sam!
WELCOME BACK SAM (okay ill stop writing like ralph now) we missed u at our annual thanksgiving turkey bowl game....
however the only relievers out there that i would want is fransisco cordero and octavio dotel...and cordero wants to close so hes gone...
ps anyone know what happened to max and that belly dancer ever since the wedding i havent heard from him
Abie sorry i didnt play with you guys. I ended up playing in douglas dweks back yard for 3 hours. had a great time.
i a little surprised hunter got signed before andrew jones. abie why are you so high on dotel he has had to many injuries and dont feel so confident in him.
Sam good to have you back. Enjoy married life and if you have any interesting marriage questions you can post it on the blog and will answer. That will enable all your other single bloggers to get a head start fo when they get married.
well... my logic on relieve pitchers is that most of them have good and bad years from year to year...there are very few that can do it on a consistent basis.. so y not take a flier on dotel and see if it works out...im not talking a major deal just 2 yrs 6 mil and he can even be traded later on just like the royals did trading him to atlanta...
its interesting to me that through omars signings the one that sticks out is schoenweiss becuz he gave him a 3 yr deal...the reason i am ok with that is becuz a left handed relief pitcher is hard to come by and just like mike stanton even late in his career he was traded for some young guys...so i think that even if schoenweiss struggles this year he will have some value at the trade deadline..and he will have more value in 09 becuz it will be the last year of his contract..
and the strange thing to me is that these relief pitchers cost u 5 mil at most(linebrink) and thats not so much so if u can take a flier on 2 or 3 guys at 2 to 3 mil each.. y not!
its not like signing cordero for closing at 10 mil a year
Ok, you bring up a good point. i am hoping schoneweis has a comeback year. bec the mets need that bullpen to come strong. the year they went to the NLCS was bec of the bullpen. it held leads and kept them in games. that didnt happen this past year.
Guys what about Kerry Wood? He came back late last year and was clocked at 98 MPH! The best part is , if a starter goes down ( Moose) he can start.Especially if Pettite retires.
wood is only good as a reliever. It's proven that he isn't gonna make it as a starter because he can't hold up. what's the difference if a reliever is right handed or left handed if he can't get anyone out? I'll take an entire bullpen of righties if they will do the job better than any lefty.
WELCOME BACK SAM IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING I HAD A BLAST & HOPE YOU DID AS WELL ENJOY MARRIED LIFE & YES WE DID MISS YOU AT TURKEY BOWL.

TO ALL YANKEE FANS:
PROJECT P46
Here's an idea - where maybe Yankees fans can help the team's chances in 2008. Some time over the next 5 days (meaning over the long weekend where you should be able to find 15 minutes to get this done), why not send a card or note to Andy Pettitte? You can send it to:
Andy Pettitte
c/o Hendricks Sports Management LP
400 Randal Way Ste 106
Spring, TX 77388
Tell Andy that you're a Yankees fan. Offer best wishes for the holiday season and new year to him and his family. And, of course, tell him that you would be thrilled to see him be a big part of the Yankees season in 2008.
Maybe an outpouring of affection by Yankees fan would help sway Andy towards returning next season? At the worst, it wouldn't hurt.
Are you willing to try it? Also, if you think this is an interesting idea, please pass the word about it. Let's try and get over 100,000 cards and notes to Andy by the end of this month. Wouldn't that be something? But, you have to have one sent before you can have 100,000 sent - so, that means you have to send one...yourself.
Again, why not take 15 minutes between today and Sunday night and "pitch" in on Project P46?
abie where do you find these things. I thought I had no life
by the way pettite don't care if 10 billion fans write him letters
no max u do have a life with ur belly dancer..by the way try saying the abc's now!!!!hahahhaha!!CAPS LOCK!!!
YAH I DOUBT 100,00O LETTERS FROM YANKEE FANS IS WHAT IS GOING TO GET HIM TO COME BACK...HED PROBABLY USE THEM TO KEEP HIS FIRE PLACE BURNING WHILE CHILLING WITH A CUP OF HOT COCOA ROCKING HIS HIS ROCKING CHAIR ENJOYING RETIRMENT WITH HIS FAMILY AROUND HIM.
BTW MAX CAN I SEE THIS BELLY DANCER E.O IS TALKING ABOUT? I MEAN IF SHES HOTT ILL GET OFF YOUR BACK OTHERWISE WHAT ELSE COULD YOU BE WAITING FOR?
ralphy, ralphy,.....that's why I'm single and you're not. Sorry buddy but you can't see her
HAHA I WONT HIT ON HER ..THATS OFCOURSE IF SHE DOESNT COME OFF TO ME LOL BUT LIGIT YOU ARE TAKING TO LONG IM GUNNA HAVE TO TAKE MY BAT OUT EARLY THIS YR AND START SWINGING AT UR HEAD! CMON MAX ITS NOT THAT SCARY JUST TRY
guys guys guys.....leave max n alone. he found his soul mate and your not letting him live his life with his women which happens to be a former employee of scores , hooters, and 3 time backround dancer in shakiras music videos.
Max just ignore them and do your thing.
on to baseball news. I read on roto worl that the yanx will be making a strong push for johan in the near future.THIS IS TREMENDOUS NEWS.Its good to see the yanx finally have there priorities strait.
Peter Gammons (the red socks fan who thinks he invented baseball) is reporting that the twins are asking for phil hughes, Melky and austin Jackson for JOHAN. Someone Please let me know where i can pick up those three guys and drive them to minesotta. JUMP ON THIS DEAL!!!
The best Melky will ever be is 20HRs 85 RBIs and a .300 average. he will never be an all-star. As for phil hughes i don't see dominant stuff when he pitches. I see a guy who's in the low 90s with good control a strong curveball and a servicable changeup. Some other things i like about hughes is his focus - he looks like he's gonna be a good competitor, his frame - he's 6 foot 5 which bodes well for a long, injury-free career (hopefully). To me Hughes looks like the kinda guy that has a chance of having the type of career that mike mussina did. In other words a 3.40 ERA 18 wins and about 200 K's in a good year. I don't see a 240K, sub 3.00 ERA type of guy like johan and peavy are.
YAH BUT THE KEY IS YOU HAVE HUGHES WHOS YOUNG AND GUNNA GIVE YOU ALL THAT OVER THE NEXT DECADE BESIDES MALKY IS A GREAT DEFENSIVE PLAYER AND A SPARK TO THE TEAM HES EXCITING TO WATCH AND BRINGS LIFE TOGETHER WITH CANO TO THE TEAM.
I THINK THEY SHOULD WAIT INSTEAD OF GIVING UP THE YOUNG GUYS WAIT TILL THE TRADE DEADLINE WHEN MIN IS DESPERATE OR WAIT TILL NEXT YR WHEN HE IS A FREE AGENT I WOULDNT GIVE UP THESE GUYS THIS IS THE YANKEES FUTURE EITHER PAY HIM AND MIN LOTS OF FLOOSE OR WAIT ON IT.
i think that minnesota can get more value for him now rather than at the all star break...becuz the team will get him for an entire year and they will have time b4 the year starts to sign him rather then havenegotiations during the year which is more difficult and they will have less tiem to try and sign him so...if the yankees dont jump on him now RALPH they will lose out on him completely!!amen!
I DONT THINK SO BECAUSE HE HAS THE RIGHT TO SAY WHERE HE CAN BE TRADED TO AND HE WANTS TO COME TO NY SO I WOULD WAIT
I DONT GIVE A DAM IF U GOT MARRIED I WANT TO KNOW HOW THE YANX ARE GETTING SANTANA
avi I can't agree with you more. Melky will never be an all star and guys like him aren't hard to find. Hughes was way over-hyped. He is not a bona-fide ace in my eyes. i gotta give him credit on his curveball though- it's awesome ( thank you abie). If you can get the best lefty in the game you do it.
that being said i don't see that being enough. I never trusted Peter Gammons anyway.
I could definitely see detroit coughing up Bonderman, granderson, and zumaya or another guy.
Avi, i'll pay gas and tolls...
