'OH BROTHER

I would like to let it be known that I, SAMIAM am a huge Jets fan (unfortunately). Now that I got that out of the way I would like to give you my take on the Giants.

First I would like to congratulate the Giants on a clutch performance against one of the top 5 teams in the NFL. The Giants have been raising eyebrows ever since that Patriots game on the last week of the season. Before that game , they were the most inconsistent team i have ever seen. First you get one spectacular game then you get a clunker (even in wins they didn't look so good).

After yesterdays game, I don't want to hear it about Eli, If I hear one person tell me that Eli had anything to do with the Giants winning they are out of their minds. The sole reason they won was because the defense held a dynamic offense in the cowboys to 3 points in the second half. (Now that deserves to be talked about.)

People were talking how Eli Was better than Peyton yesterday which I think is totally incorrect. In Eli's case he was just good enough not to lose. Then the rest of his team stepped it up. In Peyton's case, He did everything he can do to help his team win but his team did not allow him to win. Between a couple of balls that were dropped and one huge interception that went threw the hands of the intended target there was just nothing He could do about it. Peyton was, is, and always will be light years ahead of Eli, And that's that.

But getting Back to the Matter at hand, The Giants are going to have there hands full next week. Because Brett Favre will get those calls and non calls that Romo was and wasn't getting. (they still give him rookie treatment) People tend to forget that the Packers Are an All around football team and Not a one dimension (offense only)kind of team. But after all said and done I personally think the Giants will prevail and come out victorious. But solely based on the fact that the defense keeps ridding the wave that they have created for themselves. But if Eli puts together another (just good enough type of performances) the Giants will lose. But he is due to have a breakout game now that he is out of his brothers Shadow for the time being.

hats off to the giants for a great performance....this is not like a mets/yankees thing...there is no hatred between jets and giants....

question who has the best left side of the infield in ny...Left Side = SS and 3B? must combined both...the question is is alex rodriguez that much better than david wright even moreso then reyes is over jeter....i know ralph hannan thinks that jeter is better than reyes so i know which way he sways

max n. - says mets have better left side

sam i'll bet you anything that the mets left side will have
a)more total bases this year
b)more stolen bases ( reyes alone will beat arod and lot-6)
c)the mets left side will get to more balls defensively

sorry sam- i think avi will agree

The first thing i would like to mention was RALPH HANAN DO YOU THINK THE GIANTS MISSED SHICKEY YESTERDAY? bOSS made a huge catch before the half and didnt beat up the football after doing it.
Sam you might be right that Eli wasnt the reason they won and it was the defensethat deserves the credit. But he does deserve tremendous credit for that drive HE put together before the half. If you saw it you would agree.

SAM I AM said...

First of all, phil hughes in one point of his career has thrown 97. second of all max n smokes pot.third of all i garuntee more offense production from the yanx left side.and abie, any time on the short post . keep in mind i always try to make life easy for my fans

ACTUALLY ABE IT DEPENDS ON IN WHAT TERMS YOU ARE TALKING..IS YOU ARE TALKING DEFENSE I THINK ITS PRETTY CLOSE ALTHOUGH I MIGHT GIVE IT TO YOU WITH THE METS..AS FAR AS CLUTCH DEFENSIVE PLAYS MAYBE THE YANKEES AND AS FOR OFFENSE THE YANKEES WOULD TAKE THAT AS WELL ASIDE FROM THE STOLEN BASE NUMBERS THE METS PUT UP.

AS FAR AS SHOCKEY..YES I THINK THEY DID MISS HIM THEY WILL ALWAYS MISS HIM. TRUE BOSS MADE A GREAT CATCH BUT EVERYONE WILL SOME TIME DURING THE COURSE OF THE SEASON. BUT THE KEY WORD THERE IS CATCH. NOT CATCHES. THATS A PROBLEM EVEN PROVEN IN THIS CASE. BOSS WAS GIVEN HOW MANY THROWS DURING THE COURSE OF THE GAME? NOT TOO MANY IN FACT MAYBE ONLY THAT ONE. IF ELI WOULD USE HIS TE A LITTLE MORE HE WILL FORCE OTHER TEAMS TO DEFEND THE TIGHT END LEAVING MORE OPEN RECIEVERS. ON THE FLIPSIDE IF THE TEAMS DO NOT DEFEND THE TE THEN ANY QUICK THROW WILL RESULT IN 10 YARDS MINIMUM WHICH IS GREAT WAY TO MARCH DOWN THE FIELD AND PUT SOME POINTS ON THE BOARD. THE GIANTS HAVE A GREAT TE IN JEREMY SHOCKEY HES GOT A BIG BODY AND A GOOD PAIR OF LEGS AS WELL AS GREAT DETERMINATION. TRUST ME THEY MISS THAT DETERMINATION. ESPECIALLY ELI MANNING. WHENEVER HE DOESNT DO WELL YOU COULD SEE IT FROM HIS BODY MOTION. HE COULD USE THE FIRE SHOCKEY HAS TO OFFER BUT THE QUESTION IS WHEN WILL HE KNOW THAT...

RALPH said...

& ABE SEND ME THE SONG

abie said...

since shockey has left the giants have not lost and eli hasnt thrown a pick...and ralph did u just say he has a nice pair of legs...hahahaha....and ralph put ur email address up and ill send it to u

Abie dont worry the DVD is in a safe place i just didnt have a chance to watch it yet. But dont worry i plan on it. Last night i watched on SNY METS CLASICS THE GAME were the mets scored 10 runs in the bottom of the eighth against the braves. Piazza capped the inning with a a line drive 3 run homer over the left feild wall. It was in 2000. i remember listening to it. ( and yes i know it was a friday night shame on me)

All i have to say about sam and max n is i want pot and sticky buns from both of you.
And Abie that was a great Shockey point that Eli hasnt thrown an interception since he has been gone Whether its a coincidence or not its a great point. Ralph i agree that shockeys fire and loud persona is good but performance is the most important. So if he would just get more dicsiplined maybe Eli and him can connect.
Last point if the yankees pulled out of the johan talks that brings the mets a step closer (i am praying) The yanx are out of it the same way they were out of Arod.

abie said...

in his 60 minutes interview.. max n denied any use of anabolic steroids...and when asked if he has ever been injected with anything he said "only vitamin c....i mean b-12"

sam i was just thinking....
if the mets and twins agreed to the deal and the mets had a 72 hour window to agree to a contract...that would be the most awkward 72 hours of my life...think about it...if it were the yankees his uniform would already be made...but the mets would take it to the 73rd hour....

the mets over the past few years have been paying beltran about 11 per year and now h ewill be getting 18.5 per year for the next 4 years and pedro has been paid 14m each for the past 2 years and this yr gets 11.5..

my point is the mets have ever paid anyone more then 14 million in a season even delgado is only owed 12 mil this year from the mets...and now they will sign the best pitcher in baseball to a 23 mil/yr contract...i dont think so....

maxsutton said...

as realistic met fan we all know abie is right. But if they even get that close to get them to agree on a trade is a step for the mets. At least it would show they are really going for it.
After the collapse wilpon should say to the fans bec you had to go through last year i will spend the extra buck on santana.( its going to end up coming out of the fans pockets anyway with ticket prices always going up. I dont really go to enough games to complain about that so i say get him and raise the prices.

if u remember this post was about the giants so how about a comment about them...

wade phillips head coach of the cowboys said that"after watching the film, it sis clear to me that the better team lost on sunday"....

WOW!!!!

maxsutton said...

i am a big giant fan. that wade philips comment was said at the wrong time but i dont think it was off. The cowboys have bigger talen at more positions just the giants had a better game and came threw when it counted. If they play each other 10 times i think everyone would agree cowboys win atleast 6

abie said...

citigroup the group that bought the name rights to the new mets stadium just announced that it lost 10 billion dollars last year..i hope that this stadium doesnt become like the astros changing names every year...

abie said...

2 interesting notes:

all 4 teams in the nfl that are still alive all played their starters down the stretch...

also both the chargers and giants you could say did addition by subtraction:

the chargers by firing schottenheimer and the giants by losing tiki

i guess eli gets the big piece of meat at the manning table now...

I DUNNO GUYS IM NOT AS BIG A GIANTSS FAN AS I AM A YANKEE FAN SO YOU CANT SAY ITS BECAUSE I LOVE EM THAT I I OVERLOOK SOME THINGS..

I JUST REALLY THINK SHOCKEY IS A GREAT PLAYER I MEAN I HONESTLY DONT THINK HE GETS ENOUGH THROWS A GAME. SAYS WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT ELI NOT HAVING A PICK SINCE HE WAS GONE BUT THEN AGAIN LOOK AT ELIS PICKS AND NONE WAS ON A THROW ANYWHERE IN SHOCKEYS DIRECTION SO AS GOOD OF A POINT AS IT IS ITS IRRELEVANT BECAUSE ONE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER. TRUE HE HAS A PROBLEM WHEN HE GETS OVER EXCITED HE DRAWS SOME PENALTIES BUT LETS JUST SAY THAT EXCITEMENT IS MIXED IN WITH FRUSTRATION THAT IF HE WOULD GET THE BALL MORE OFTEN HE COULD CONTRIBUTE MORE TO THE TEAM. WE ALL PLAY THE SPORT WE KNOW HOW IT IS WHEN YOU DONT GET A THROW AND THEN WHEN YOU DO AND GET A DECENT AMOUNT OF YARDS YOU SAY "SEE IF I WOULD JUST GET THE BALL A LITTLE MORE..." THATS THE KIND OF THING I THINK HE DOES. BUT I DUNNO GUYS I GUESS ITS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION ON THE GUY I FIND HIM TO BE A WEAPON; EITHER FOR GOOD OR FOR BAD. USE HIM ONCE A GAME AND HELL DRAW THAT PENALTY THAT WILL JUST SHOOT YOU IN THE FOOT BUT USE HIM 6-8 TIMES A GAME AND HE WILL PRODUCE IN MY OPINION 60-80 YARDS A GAME WHICH IS TREMENDOUS.

BY THE WAY ABIE ITS RJAYH1@AOL.COM

OH AND YES SHOCKEY HAS A GREAT PAIR OF LEGS. NOT TO HAIRY EITHER.

abie said...

wow its unbelievable how much u love this guy for making a catch a game and then spiking the ball and showing emotion...u really think that its all on eli...wow u know that if he was great that he would get the ball..i mean you cant be ignored for 5 years...

he has a great body type maybe he should convert to an offensive lineman or something but he hasnt cut it yet as a tight end and all the hype he gets from people like you..(its funny how your proving sams point for him)... he was compared after his first year to tony gonzalez and tony gonzalez just had a 99 reception year in his 11th season with 1172 yds AND he has only missed 2 games in those 11 years...

so fact is he is overrated and replying to this comment only further proves my (and sams) point...AMEN!

abie said...

RALPH YOU ARE A DISASTER...now go buy some challah and sticky buns and shut up!

Ralph i dont know what you have going on with shockey but bottom line he isnt as good as you think he is. That doesnt mean he isnt good but you make him out to be the best. You are right some of elis interceptions are nowere near him. Maybe its bec he doesnt run his routes and he confuses the hell out of him. Look at a guy like toomer, he isnt the fastest or the tallest but he is elis favorite receiver bec he is persise and has great hands. 2 things shockey doesnt have.

And abie i dont care what they call the new stadium as long as they win.

abie said...

sam how about a post looking forward to the packers game...

MAX I NEVER SAID HE WAS THE BEST PLAYER NOR DID I COMPARE HIM TO AMANI TOOMER BECAUSE YOU ARE RIGHT AMANI IS MUCH BETTER THIS WAS ABOUT HIM BEING OVER RATED AND I DONT THINK HE IS BECAUSE HE IS A GREAT PLAYER HE JUST DOESNT GET ENOUGH THROWS TO BRING OUT HOW GOOD HE IS. BUT HE ISNT LOOKED AT AS THE BEST PLAYER AND THATS NOT WHAT I WAS TRYING TO BRING OUT. BUT HES DEFINITELY NOT OVER RATED.

SO WHEN ARE WE GETTING A NEW TOPIC...

HOW ABOUT HOW STICKY ARE THE BUNS?

OK fun fact after the game they asked Eli what he enjoys they said we never see you with any hot celebrities so he answers well I like to watch seinfeld. They asked Plax about this and he starts laughing thinking how gay he is and says at least we know where our qb is at nights taking a shot at tony romo. So Green Bay actually went and canceled Seinfeld for all the days the Giants are in town

Ralph this is for you.

Dan Marino, perhaps the best quarterback to never have won a Super Bowl, thinks the GiantsNew York Giants ’ chances to do so improved when they lost Jeremy ShockeyJeremy Shockey .

On tonight’s episode of “Inside the NFL” Marino called out the brash tight end who was sidelined for the season with a fractured fibula against the Redskins in Week 15.

“I think it’s helped them from the standpoint of, yeah, there’s times when you see Eli ManningEli Manning try to force the ball to Jeremy Shockey and Kevin Boss, the new guy in there, seems to be fitting in perfectly for them,” Marino said.

While Boss only had one catch in the Giants 21-17 win over the Cowboys, it was a big one. With the Giants trailing 14-7 in the closing seconds before halftime Boss had a 19-yard reception bringing Big Blue to the Dallas four-yard line. Amani Toomer scored on the next play to tie the game.

“And I think it has helped to a certain point because Shockey’s not actually the greatest route runner at times; he will break it off when he shouldn’t when you look at him on film so I think it has helped,” Marino said.

The Giants have gone 3-1 since Shockey’s injury, with the only setback coming at the hands of the 17-0 Patriots.
