PLEASE TELL ME IM DREAMING, CAUSE THIS IS A NIGHTMARE

Pending physicals, Johan Santana was just traded to the Mets for a bunch of GARBAGE,

Carlos Gomez, Deolis Guerra, Kevin Mulvey and Philip Humber.

"Gomez and Guerra are big-time talents, but Gomez lacks plate discipline and might not fit in the top half of the lineup and an awful lot could go wrong before Guerra even sniffs the majors. Mulvey and Humber are third starters at best and probably more like fourths". It just doesnt add up??? A Yankee package of Kennedy, Marquez, Horne and Tobata is far superior than the Mets package. There is no reason why Johan isn't headed to the Bronx right now. I am pissed off at cashman . He is one of the most incompetent Gm's in baseball, and always manages a way not to do the right thing for the team. What bothers me the most is he continues to get away with it . Meanwhile, Omar just made everybody forget about his Ryan church for millage blunder. Yankee fans can say "At least hes not a part of the RED SOX" and granted that is a huge bonus but I am still infuriated.
It doesnt make sense that The Twins didn't Demand Fernando Martinez because he is the only talent in the mets organization worth talking about.

I'm just in shock right now . Its going to take time for me to digest this information. Right now the Mets are set, They just landed one of the best in the game, They definitely are favored to win the NL.

The Yankees could have and should have Pulled the trigger. WHAT A DISSASTER

SAM RELAX..THIS SHOULD MAKE YOU HAPPY..

LOOK THE YANX IN A HUGE WAY LOST OUT BUT LOOK WHAT ENDED UP HAPPENING...WE WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP TONS OF GREAT TALENT IN MELKY AND HUGHES AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY WANTED AND INSTEAD THEY GOT CRAP FOR SANTANA YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL WITH THE TWINS AND THEIR ORGANIZATION.

YOU KNOW WHAT THIS TELLS ME THAT MAYBE SOMETHING COULD BE WRONG THAT THEY KNOW OF AND SINCE THEY LOST OUT ON THE TRADE WITH THE YANX THEY WANT ANYTHING FOR HIM BECAUSE WHAT A DRASTIC DIFFERENCE IN WHAT THEY WANTED TO WHAT THE GOT.

SOMETHING IS UP AND IM GLAD THE YANX HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

THANK G-D THE RED SOX DONT EITHER BECAUSE THATS A BIGGER THREAT BECAUSE IT A DIVISIONAL RIVAL BUT I DONT KNOW THIS IS FISHY TO ME AND I THINK IM HAPPY NOW KNOWING WHAT THEY SETTLED FOR BECAUSE THIS SHOWS WE WERE GIVING UP ALOT.

LETS GO YANKEES!!!!!

I THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE ANOTHER ERIC GANGE MOVE WHERE IT LOOKS HORRIBLE ON THE PART OF THE YANKEES BUT WE WILL SEE WHO COMES OUT ON TOP IN THIS DEAL.

Ralph your a disaster. You have no basis to your implications. your just guessing. and first of all . melky is nothing better than a 290 hitter with 15 hr potential with a good arm but takes questionable routes to fly balls . so dont say hes so talented. Even if we did had to trade hughes ...you do it. Your getting the best freakin pitcher in the freakin game!!!!!!!!all hughes is , is potential. but johan is A PROVEN PERENIAL ACE buddy he has 2 CY YOUNG AWARDS and hes still Young i forgot to mention HES A FREAKIN LEFTY.but i dont even think the yanx needed to include hughes anyway after looking at the mets package we could have gave them the package i stated in the post. THIS OFFICIALLY SUCKS. oh and Abie that was a good MasterCard commercial. Oh one more thing, mark my words the last 2 to 3 years of the johan contract will be a waste. but the first 3 to for will guarantee the mets to the nlcs at least twice

im lovin it disgruntled yankee fans

Max n wanted some baseball news and he was getting bored. Well you got it baby. i dont think you are to happy but holy cow JOHAN IS A MET. Sam your post was well put except for one line. you wrote he is one of the greats in the game today. he isnt just one of them HE IS THE BEST PITCHER IN THE MAJOR LEAGES and the mets got him.
Maybe i am crazy but this says to me that all the talk before was just the papers and radio. Ofcourse the twins would have taken hughes and melky over this package the mets gave buti dont think it was ever offered.
Omar got the papers front and back to talk about the Mets during Super Bowl week. That is Tremendous.
He is under 30 years old and now is going to pitch in the nl. Before he was the best in the Mjors in the AL. Now in the nl He will be of the charts the best
The last time the Mets got anything done close to this was mike hamton and the y went to the world series.
Last point I dont give a d-m what they pey him or how long the contract is just make sure he is wearing that Met uniform Opening day

Bob klapish of the bergen record writes how it went down:

1)“The Twins called the Yankees and admitted surrender: Phil Hughes was no longer a prerequisite…Instead, the Twins asked for Ian Kennedy, Melky Cabrera and a top prospect. Would the Yankees still be interested, Smith wondered? The Yankees considered the idea, but only briefly and not seriously…The Twins had waited too long…The Red Sox, in lock step with the Yankees, had essentially backed out, too…That left the Mets, who after hearing from Smith didn’t allow themselves to be bluffed.”

2)“According to one person familiar with the situation, the talks heated up Monday night and Guerra was not added until yesterday…once Guerra was included, the Mets told the Twins it was their ‘best and final’ offer…If Minnesota had balked again, the Mets were prepared to walk away from Santana, with one team official describing Plan B as Kyle Lohse and Plan C as Livan Hernandez. Fortunately for the Mets, it didn’t come down to that.”

wight reyes santana.....??????

abie said...

wow...this is a defentely amazin!!

anyteam that says they dont need a Santana are fools. He is by far the best in the game, and by pitching to 7-8-9 everyday in the NL lineups he will lose a point in ERA and win more games...thats if Billy the Bitch dont ruin it for him!

SAM I AM said...

steph, go check out what i posted 2 posts ago. "pinstripes pa pinchhits at lohud" it addresses exactly what we were discussing a couple of weekends ago

maxsutton said...

On the very mound Avi L proposed on the Best pitcher in baseball will be pitching as a met.
Thats AMAZIN

maxsutton said...

i know this sounds crazy and it really doesnt make diffrence but i would still let Pedro start opening day.
Now the rotation is
1. Johan Santana
2. Pedro Martinez
3. John Maine
4. Oliver Perez
5. Elduque Hernandez
6. Mike Pelfrey
It really is AMAZIN how one front line starter can really add depth to a starting rotation. Now the mets have three 15 game winners in the staff. The best part about it is their best 3 starters are all under 30 years old. If Pedro has anything left in the tank and could give them something they will be in great great shape.

abie said...

max if johan pitches opening day at shea which the mets dont have their home opener as the first game of the year...then i have 4 tix to his 2nd start which would be sunday mezz sec 1 row A...

cant wait!!!

MSR said...

Pedro only threw like 50 innings last year total. Is he really going to be expected to reach 150 innings this year. Is that realistic? One thing is for sure, he should be well rested!!

There are always injuries to pitchers...
Lets say I give you your 4 full time pitchers and have Pedro and El Duke split time at the 5th spot.
Who is the guy they will call up to make spot starts? Brian Lawrence?

maxsutton said...

msr I do think pedro will give them atleast 100 inings. this time he is starting the season healthy and like you said he didnt pitch much last year so he should be well rested. Elduque like you said will fill the rest of the inings pedro isnt giving. that leaves
SANTANA, MAINE, PEREZ, AND PELFREY AS THE FIFTH man. That is fine with me as a met fan

wow feels good, yankee fans are squirming like salt on a worm

sam u must post a giants post before sunday so we can all get our predictions in before the game...give us ur prediction now

20 hrs till the deadline... i said it before the mets are gonna take this into the 73rd hour...they always make you sweat....
GAME ON! PASS THE WEED MAX!

abie said...

AND NOW PRESENING YOUR 2008 NEW YORK METS!

STARTING PITCHERS

1. Johan Santana
2. Pedro Martinez
3. John Maine
4. Oliver Perez
5. Orlando Hernandez or Mike Pelfrey. As they did last year, they could go with four starters to start the season because of the off days and go with an extra position player.

BULLPEN

6. Billy Wagner
7. Jorge Sosa
8. Aaron Heilman
9. Pedro Feliciano
10. Scott Schoeneweis
11. Matt Wise
12. OPEN: Duaner Sanchez makes it if he’s healthy. In the wake of the Santana deal, Hernandez could be in the pen as a long reliever.

CATCHERS

13. Brian Schneider
14. Ramon Castro

INFIELDERS

15. Carlos Delgado
16. Luis Castillo
17. Jose Reyes
18. David Wright
19. Damion Easley
20. Marlon Anderson

OUTFIELDERS

21. Moises Alou
22. Carlos Beltran
23. Ryan Church
24. Endy Chavez
25. Angel Pagan
