NOT "PHIL"IN GOOD?

According to Kat Obrien of News day this "oblique strain" that has Hughes shelved for at least a month is lejit. http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/blog/2008/04/hughes_to_the_dl.html

All I have to say is the Yankees are FULL OF IT.
You can't really blame the Yankees though. This whole situation is a little embarrassing .

If it is really an injury, than Phil Hughes was placed on the DL two years in a row with two separate injuries.
Injury prone ??? I sure hope not.

This morning Boomer Esiason said that in the NFL when Qbs complain about miscelaneos injuries such as hamstrings, obliques etc... Most of the time the real problem is the shoulder , but they dont want to publicize an injury such as that. I pray that this isnt the case for our ("so called") future.

(Special thanks to Max S for the Boomer info)

I officially made the big time. i made it to the post. All i have to say is that is TREMENDOUS.
oFCOURSE ONLY TIME WILL TELL if keeping huges was a dissaster but just watching this unfold the way its actually happening i dont think anyone thought he would suck this bad in the early going.
I hear the yanx are putting together a contract for him to only pitch in day games.

Sambo,

First, he can't see at night. Then, he has a strained oblique.
What's next - it is not really hughes but it is an alien imposter!! Where is big mouth Hank
(arr, arr) he seems awfully quiet.

Sambo,
Maybe he can use the "We have a 200 million dollar payroll, but this is a rebuilding year" excuse. At least torre calmed everybody down, noone has any confidence in girardi.

Hey guys i didnt watch or even see the lowlites on yesterdays yankee game but did Ian kennedy throw another clunker? What did they ever see out of him anyway. Even though the phil hughes situation is a disaster with him maybe turning into an injury prone guy this early in his career. Atleast he did do some good last year and show he could be something. ( not Johan, but atleast something)
But what do they see with kenedy He isnt so good. Even if he turns out to be a good number 3 starter in a couple of years they could have traded him for gold in the off season. now his stock is as low as can be.

Regarding there offense i know its not performing now but i wouldnt worry about that. i think they will come around. ( on the other hand i dont think the mets will ever explode offensively this year. the back end of there lineup is just to weak. i still think they will end up in the playoffs but thats bec there division really stinks.)

David, since i read your comment on take me out to the ballgame i have been humming it all morning, and for some reason i am in the mood for some peanuts and cracker jacks
