In a shocking turn of events Torre turns down a 1 year 5 mil dollar deal with incentives for a possible 8 mill. I cant believe he said no.The only reason I could think of is he felt disrespected.on the 1 year offer..In my mind this is a good thing..Its time to turn the page .
Thank you Joe for all that you've done for this organization but at the same time don't let the door hit you on the way out....

I believe that if the yankees intentions were to look like they gave a good effort while not saying your fired then they did an ok job....(similar to shawn estes throwing behind clemens make up ur own ending) u can say the yankees wanted him but 4 less or u can say that they didnt want him and the offer showed that....
personally i think that its great that joe left on his own terms and said to them goodbye (whether or not the offer was whole hearted or not) he said no and he left
as for him and all the yankee free agents COME ON DOWN TO SHEA!!! we'll take posada, rivera, a-rod and even joe himself!!!
crazy...it’s soap opera time in the bronx, folks....and all is quiet in queens…sleep tight…
relax. mariano and posada will be wearing pinstripes in 2008. As for Joe- I love you, and thanks, but I was never a big "manager guy". I'd rather have Andrue jones for one year than Joe for four.
according to multiple sources randy levine played a major role in the firing of joe torre
since 2004 levine has tried to get rid of torre and this year he finally did
the funny thing is, is that levine came to the yankees at the end of the 2000 season....
so the yankees never had "success" in his regime...
and now he gets rid of torre.....
the big question is ..
steinbrenner has a history of rehiring managers immediately after he fires them (he even offered showalter the job after he hired torre)
so the big question is A.. does he offer joe a better contract now? B. if the yankees dont make the playoffs this year do the yankees say whatever u want joe come back becuz we have a new stadium and we want u to manage the beginning in it....
if ur answer is no to both of these then where does torre go?
he will do the world series on fox becuz he is close to both mccarver and joe buck.. but where will he manage next? LA DODGERS? ST LOUIS CARDINALS?
one more thing would u do this if ur the yankees or the marlins (give me both sides)
sign a-rod to a 8 yr 240 million contract
and ship him to florida along with 1 of the 3 stud pitchers (hughes, jaba, kennedy) and melky and maybe pay 20 milion for miguel cabrera and dontrelle willis?
what do u think
the marlins would get somebody that can fill the seats and maybe even get there new stadium somewhere in florida or out of state...they have been waiting for a long time for a new stadium and he may be there ticket to a new one
arod would love it cuz he gets his money and thats all he cares about
the marlins would get 21 mill from texas and 20mil from the yankees so they will be paying 8 yr 200 mill (240 -41)
i like it what do u think?
i know the whole joe thing is getting old but the red sox winning is good for yankee fans bec now Francona stays.
i wish the mets didnt announce randolf will stay bec i would love for them to get torre. At the time i wasnt upset but now that torre is free i would love for them to get him. It would give them a shot in getting Posada, Rivera,Arod and even Pedite.
Truth is i think all of them stay with the yankees. The bottom line is money talks and the yankees spend the most of it. I would take Arod in a minute and dont get me wrong he is a better player than Mike Lowell but when you see that lowell is 6 for 10 with risp in the alcs it makes you think. Maybe yankees should go for lowell and schilling for the same money arod costs alone
