The importance of the 4th outfielder

Damon would fill that role perfectly. But I dont think that he would be ok with that,He is going to want to get at least 500 at bats. and with the yanx picking up abreu's option there is a log jam in the outfield. I am assuming that the yanx are going to trade either melky , abreu or damon in any kind of deal. Once we do that They probably would sign one of the free agent center fielders.
Then we need a 4th outfielder type of guy on the bench if A-JAX or Brett Gardner isnt ready then maybe the yanx should consider bringing somebody like Corey Paterson or somebody like that.

first of all sam I like the new pix you are so evan roberts. I agree 100% that it's about time the yanks have a good fourth outfielder. last year eas the first time an many that our fourth outfuielder could actualy hit. Corey patterson ( you hushoer!) is THE PERFECT GUY. He can hit a homer off the bench, he is an absolute wizard in center field, and is one of the best base-stealers in the majors. This is not an exxagerration. If you don't believe me- look at his stats and watch some highlight reels. And you can add the fact that , as he was the best prospect in baseball, You never know if he'll pull an adrian Beltre or a Brandon Phillips on you and reach his potential. I give him 3 years, 12-14 million.
